Parish Collections

The 1st Collection taken up at Mass is sent to the Diocese's Clergy Remuneration and Retirement Fund to be used for the financial support of the Bishop and priests of the Diocese.

The 2nd Collection taken up at Mass is used to meet Parish running costs, maintenance of Church, Presbytery, offices, other buildings and grounds. It is also used to pay for all our ministries expenses and staff salaries and superannuation.

To support our Parish, contribution to the second collection can be done in various ways.:

​

• Directly on the plate during Mass, or

• Via the Tap 'n Go terminals at the rear of our churches, or

• By clicking the above button to make a donation - select No.1 Parish Giving (2nd Collection) from the drop down menu, or

• Preferably to assist with planning for Parish needs, you can make regular contributions by joining our Planned Giving program - please contact the Parish Office.

Planned Giving contributions via Credit Cards

To set up a regular contribution to our Second Collection Planned Giving, via Credit Cards, please download Direct Credit request form and return it to the Parish Office.

 

Credit card payments are processed once a month, on or after the 15th of each month.

Special Collections

Pastoral Works Broken Bay Appeal - PWBB (formerly known as the CWF Appeal)

During the year there are two special appeals for PWBB.

​

This appeal is used to support the charitable activities of the Diocese, supporting:

​

• CatholicCare's Hospital Chaplaincy

• Catechists (through the Confraternity for Christian Doctrine)

• St Lucy’s school which reaches out to children with disabilities

• St Edmonds school for children with special needs, and

• Ephpheta Centre which reaches out to deaf and hearing impaired communities

Donations of $2 and over to PWBB are 100% tax deductible.

Other Special Collections During the Year

 

Other special collections include:

​

• Annual Appeal for the Missions

• Peter's Pence

• Project Compassion Appeal during Lent for Caritas (the Catholic agency for overseas aid and development), and finally

• Holy Places, a special collection taken up on Good Friday.

250 Club

 

The 250 Club is a great way to assist the Parish with special purchases and also to have a chance to win a monetary prize.   The winning number is taken from the first prize of the first $2 Jackpot Lottery drawn in the week.

 

There is a  prize of $25 and $500 every five weeks if a parishioner holds the winning number.

 

The cost to join is $1 per week payable in advance. i.e. $20 per series.
